Casual Friday has become Football Friday since a couple of weeks. Since the initiation of the campaign Friday by Friday you see more people in the streets and in the businesses wearing football shirts.
Being on a Friday in one of the biggest bank’s headquarters is very colorful experience. A considerable part of the staff is proudly wearing their team’s shirts, whether it displays the colours of Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Real Madrid or Man United, or of the national team. You see the colors of Brazil, England, Italy, even Switzerland, and of course many Bafana Bafana shirts. Bafana Bafana (“The Boys”) – nickname of South Africa’s national football team – has a relatively short international history. That’s because the first team to represent all South Africans only played its first match in 1992 – two years before the country’s first democratic elections.
Although not really being a football enthusiast, as you can see I finally got hooked.
And you may discover another change – discovering is worth a Fat Bastard.
