free! – Heritage Day

Thursday, 24. September 2009

“Heritage Day, September 24, is a Public Holiday on which South Africans across the spectrum are encouraged to celebrate their cultural heritage and the diversity of their beliefs and traditions, in the wider context of a nation that belongs to all its people.” – wikipedia.org

Shopping Centers and Malls are opened yet with one obvious difference: many clerks wear their traditional costume.
We profit from the fact having a day off and shops opened  to look after everything we need to get settled.

We’ve been successful to that extend, that we could order the bed we learned to know while our wedding.
keep the fingers crossed, that it gets delivered to our new home by October 1st, otherwise we need to sleep on the floor.

BTW – for all our German friends:
As you know this year’s Germany’s National Holiday (Oct. 3rd) is on a Saturday, and next year on a Sunday – too bad for you.
Make use of your vote on Sunday, and vote for that party that will introduce South African legislation:
The Public Holidays Act (Act No 36 of 1994) determines whenever any public holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday following on it shall be a public holiday.
